The LSU quarterback has held down the No. 1 spot down in this poll since Week 7 — nine consecutive weeks — and is all but a lock to take home the Heisman Trophy this Saturday. The only drama may be if he wins by the largest margin in Heisman history.
Former Ohio State quarterback Troy Smith holds that distinction, having received 91.63 percent of first-place votes in 2006.
Burrow went 51-for-51 in first-place votes (153 points) in The Athletic’s poll, which follows the actual Heisman voting protocol in giving three points for first-place votes, two for second-place votes and one for third-place votes.
