Plastic pollution is a very serious issue that needs to be resolved. Stacy M, Brown reports that worldwide, humans buy a million plastic bottles per minute and 91 percent of all plastic is not recycled.
Plastic pollution is only getting worse and we aren’t doing anything about it. Claire Le Guern, a contributor to Coastal Care, states that “For more than 50 years, global production and consumption of plastics have continued to rise; every year, 8 million metric tons of plastic end up in our oceans.”
We can conclude plastic pollution is a problem and is only getting worse. I wonder, if we have all of this technology and information why don’t we solve plastic pollution?
There are many different ways to solve plastic pollution. Even doing the simple things will make a difference.
Make people recycle more by passing a law. This will decrease the amount of plastic going into the oceans and landfills. This is a simple change that will make a big difference.
Limit plastic straws, utensils and takeout containers. Instead of giving out plastic straws at restaurants, ask customers first.
Make more eco-friendly alternatives to plastic. There is a new eco friendly way to replace plastic called Earthyatude. This is only one of many different types of alternative eco friendly solutions.
